I have the utmost respect and admiration for this woman. I understand it was written in an earlier time. That being said, I was left wanting for details. Not so much gruesome details of her family and friends executions, but details of her life as a captive. I felt like she very lightly touched on her childhood, the Massacre, her captivity. There was a lot of back and side history of the Sioux and other tribes, the US government, etc. I was hoping for more of what she actually endured personally. But, I cannot imagine the horrors she saw and went through.
